Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This SE-one channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

How about going to the range, hitting two drivers, a knockdown 3 wood, a 7 iron, a 9 irons, a chip from 20 yds, a chip from 18 yds and 3 putts? That's a true warm-up for real golf.

The pre-check can be done the day before at home: drinks, snacks, balls, etc. Clubs should be cleaned as you play - you might be using the same club very soon. I have a "water brush" to do this. For a dawn-yawn start, I have a check-list just to make sure.

Good tips…I like to actually warmup on the range with either a hybrid or 3 wood off a tee and take nice, long easy swings. This takes out the focus on hitting the ball first…I find when I start with wedges, sometimes I’ll get on the chunk train and before you know it, you’ve hit a 1/2 bucket trying to hit one solid. The tee takes that out of the equation. I think Tom Watson used to warm up with a 4 iron (I don’t carry a 4 iron, so I use a hybrid/3 wood). Then, I’ll go to th wedges and go through the bag in about 15 shots. Lastly, I’ll play the first few holes in my head and see how I do…I used to hit the last ball imagining the first tee like you did, but if you crap the bed, you go to the first tee with absolutely no confidence because you’re out of balls to get the confidence back…unless you pull out some gamers from your bag!

Id say the bag & equipment should packed and ready to go before you leave the house not at the course so you dont forget anything. Too late in the car park. Use 5-10mins as a physical warm-up, the golf swing is an athletic movement so get the legs, back, shoulders warmed up and ready to go. Squat, lunge, resistance band. Then start hitting a few balls. Good vid though!!

Hi Rick. Totally agree about getting to the 1st tee totally prepared, warmed up and focused. The 6 P’s = Poor Preparation Presents Piss-Poor Perfotmance. I've been using a tee on the putting green for more years than I choose to remember, and it works treat for feel, distance and the perfect target to aim at for 4-6ft confidence building putts. Hit ’em long, straight and pin high perfect. Cheers👍

I do 15min range, 10 min wedge and 10 min putting. That does mean arriving at least an hour before tee time to have time to book in and traverse the golf club as the range, putting green and shirt game area may not be next to each other. Also gives 5 mins to chill and mentally prepare.
